Happy Meals for Grown-Ups!

McDonald's is now selling "Happy Meals" for grown-ups aka boxed meals geared toward adults. Each one has a cool, odd-looking figurine inside. The meal's are called the Cactus Plant Flea Market Box -- based on the fashion brand collaborating with McDonald's on the promotion. It comes with a Big Mac or 10-piece Chicken McNuggets, fries and a drink. The best part is the four toy figurines that come as your "prize."

Three of the four appear are artsy versions of some of the classic McDonald's characters Grimace, Hamburglar and Birdie the Early Bird. The fourth is a little yellow person called "Cactus Buddy" wearing a McDonald's shirt, supposedly inspired by the memory of enjoying a Happy Meal as a kid. The box is multicolored and features those familiar golden arches.  The Cactus Plant Flea Market Box will cost you $12.89 and is be available in the drive-thru, in-restaurant, by delivery or on the McDonald's app, while supplies last through October 30.

However, workers at Mcdonald's are struggling with the new campaign. According to MSN, McDonald’s staffers are reporting the hyper-popular promotion has brought about chaos and misery as they struggle to fulfill an avalanche of orders

A couple of issues include the fact that the adult box meals come with a Big Mac or a box of 10 chicken nuggets—significantly bigger and more complex orders than a traditional child’s Happy Meal box. Plus, children only get a Happy Meal when an adult orders it. "Adults can just buy stuff whenever they like." the report notes.

And it doesn’t help that apparently the boxes haven’t even been designed to stack, something that puts additional strain on the staff who have to juggle the endless orders.
