Elle Macpherson Shares Secret Cancer Diagnosis for the First Time
Elle Macpherson found out about her breast cancer diagnosis seven years ago but is talking about it publicly for the first time in a book she's releasing. The supermodel is refusing what doctors call traditional treatment for this type of cancer, rounds of chemotherapy. Her new book called "Elle: Life, Lessons, and Learning to Trust Yourself." coming out soon reportedly announces that she's choosing a holistic approach and her family and others closest to her are upset.
The good news is she is now in remission. That's great. TMZ is covering the story and says According to Elle, "she was advised to get a mastectomy with radiation, in addition to chemotherapy and hormone therapy but said that is "too extreme.""
She added ... "Saying no to standard medical solutions was the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life. But saying no to my own inner sense would have been even harder."
TMZ also reports, As Elle put it ... many thought she was crazy for choosing this path, including her son Flynn. Elle said on the other hand, her son Cy never wanted her to undergo chemo, fearing it was the "kiss of death."
Elle's cancer battle may been non-traditional ... but it seems to have worked for her.
